    Manual Tilt Help?

try if lubrication on the transom bracket bolt will help, you might need to pull it out to spread the lube inside. and check if the nut isn't too tight, but don't make it too loose either as the motor could drop down too quick. if you don't mind me asking, what size is the motor? i imagine...

    Bracket mounted auxiliary motor?

a 4hp yammy is a nice kicker because it has a built in tank. reverse jackplate is a cool idea, as long as you can provide enough setback to give your kicker room for tilting. you can also make a cut-out in your transom for the short shaft. this might be too drastic, but it's quite a common...

pros and cons to carpet ?

let me say i have nothing against guys who choose to carpet their boats..... i fished off a carpetted bass boat a few times and i loved it.......but i'm glad i'm not the one who had to do the cleaning.... not that it was very dirty, the owner made sure everybody had clean soles everytime they...

pros and cons to carpet ?

i planned to carpet my boat, because it looks so nice and i admire it on most of the amazing builds here and the super shiny bass boats. my style of fishing involves a lot of getting on/off the boat in secluded coves, inlets and beaches, and the floor looks like a disaster after a day of...

Aluminum polish question (STARCRAFT SEA SCAMP 14)

wkklein, most rattle can clear coats will stick to bare aluminum as long as it is clean of any residue. i use acrylic top coat, but it will come off when you scrape the bottom of the boat. that will happen eveytime you beach the boat and possibly when you slide it on/off the trailer bunks...

Aluminum polish question (STARCRAFT SEA SCAMP 14)

bare aluminum will tarnish, even if you do not wash it. anodizing can protect aluminum and maintain a semi-shiny metallic finish, but it's not as shiny as polished aluminum. what we do to prolong the shine on polished aluminum is to spray with clearcoat immediately after we polish. part...

    Craig's List flakes

 wow, fantastic luck indeed! no CL here, but there is an equivalent site so i can relate. i have an alternate email add that i put on my ads, so i can "filter" the serious buyers easily and ignore the garbage inquiries/offers....i used to openly post my phone number for faster...

    Delhi 1430 with Evinrude 9.9

another nice score for you. congrats... rims look good, save the money for something else. with the tires off, coat the whole thing in epoxy paint and they'll look good as new. about tire size, bigger is better for long distance towing, smaller is better for shallow ramps...from what i see in...

    Old Bow Eye Snapped..

welcome to tinboats! looks like it's made from cast iron or aluminum, those are brittle. i don't know where you could buy an original nor would i recommend it since it's brittle (i know, i know, the original lasted for many years, but it would suck if it breaks again many years from now.....)...

    plywood semi-V 1352

materials were scrap 5mm marine plywood, push brush handle, and epoxy. the blade: shaft slot for the blade. 5mm drill, then saw 2 parallel lines 5mm apart (did i say parallel? ) blade fits nicely short piece of the remaining brush handle to make the pommel. i used a hole saw...

    12' Sears V-hull Project

nice work befmccracken. i'd like to steal your paddle storage idea. i'm crazy about small motors. they sure are slow, but a gallon would last for a weekend's worth of puttering about. i 'd never part with my 2hp.
