    A new troubleshooting topic...so I don't threadjack

Posed this in another troubleshooting thread but don't want to hijack his thread. I've got a jon boat with a starting battery hooked to an electric start, power tilt/trim Merc 40 h.p. The starting battery (newish) loses voltage fairly rapidly when pos and neg cables are connected. I've removed...

    trouble shooting help

Same problem. My starting battery keeps losing juice whenever the negative cable is connected. It did it before I started running a rear sonar off it. It's like something in the starting/engine wiring is sucking up the volts. I tried the circuit tester light between the neg post and cable...

    Nets!

Have a folding/telescoping net from Wal-Mart that's the shizzle. folds and stows compact but opens and you can extend the handle to about 3-4 feet. Only need for crappie or trout so use rarely but it works well when you need it. Telescoping handle is a great feature.

Garmin Echo 200 (revised) Headed back to Sears

Got one. Like it. Love that I can pop the unit out without unplugging wires. Don't like the lack of battery voltage display. Overall very satisfied. I have 2 Garmins-one in the front of the boat with a TM transducer and one in the stern with a stern tansducer. Can perate both at the same...

Bearing Grease seal, spindle - should there be a gap?

I'd say get a good measurement on the seal surface for the I.D. and get the correct O.D. of the seal and contact: https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=24134 https://www.shopchampiontrailers.com/ They are most helpful and maybe you could just get new standard spindle(s) if yours...

A plug for Champion Trailer Parts

Just finished doing business with Champion and they were great. I've been farting around repairing an old 87-88 Dixie Craft trailer with a round tube tongue. It had goofy bearings and hubs. At one point they shipped me the wrong spindle and were going to next-day air the correct one at...

    Prop has no markings...what do I have/need

I have an 87 Polar Kraft 16' with a 91' Merc 4 cylinder 40 HP ELPTO tiller motor. Boat and motor are great. Seems to struggle a bit on accelerating to plane but not bad and top speed seems OK. Question is what is the original prop? The only markings on the aluminum prop are "20 / OR 11"...

Thanks for all the good info. That is great.

New member. Epoxy question for both laminating and sealing.

I'm having to replace the transom on a Polar Kraft 1652 (1987). It's plywood encased inside aluminum. I am going to use marine ply and laminate two pieces but also want to seal or encapsulate it so I don't have to do it again. In your experience what brand epoxy products have you used that...
