That's a 20" shaft. the boat is for OFF SHORE (thus the name) and his ridiculous freeboard! THAT BOAT IS SO COOL!

First build - 16ft Duck Boat

I built a box for my seat. Nice to have "under butt" storage space in a duckboat. Good for decoy gloves, spare parts, etc. Looks good.

07 1860 Roughneck Rebuild and questions

Looks like a duckboat. Nice work, and excellent handling of a sandy problem. I would have been livid if that happened to me! But we can only take things one step at a time, right? very nice work, that paint came out nice and flat.

    Cashew's 11' SeaMaid

Cool, glad to see another duck boat on the site, we will take over... eventually. consider decking over and making cockpit coamings to keep errant waves out of the boat. Should work great for small water no matter what you do with it. I recommend the hunters specialties flat enamels, I have...

1993 mercury 15hp hard starting in the cold -

I have this motor on my (new, small) duck boat - it has been getting harder and harder to start the first time (cold, 32deg) the colder it gets. It takes many (like 20 the other day, like 40 today) the more times i pull the recoil, eventually it does start, but it runs half a second or less...

23' Lone Star Cruise Liner Conversion...adding strength?

The Chesapeake will do that to a boat. This is a really cool project, I'd love one of these for a big water duck boat!

A Pic of my 13 foot duck boat under construction

Honestly, I'd leave it the way it is if all you use it for is mobility. The pods are great but it's probably cheaper for you to buy a used 14 Jon than add pods to a 13', if you watch Craig's enough.

    14' Crestliner Viking refresh

Looks good. My next boat will be a 19 crestliner. Something with a forward console, like an old Norseman.

Start looking for that lower unit. Wow, that must have been some rock.

1977 Johnson 85hp lower unit compatibility

I've already done that, disconnected cable and shifted it in by hand. The friction of the water around the prop prevents it from shifting into gear. Ie it will shift and turn fine running on a hose, but not on the lake. My cables are brand spankin, and the adjustments are correct.

1977 Johnson 85hp lower unit compatibility

Did a google search and came up dry. Any ideas what used ones I can bolt on? I have lost reverse on mine, it just never catches. In warm water conditions it sometimes will, but I need this sucker running at 100%
