I have some metal clips just like the plastic ones you posted that work great on the race car. Haven't used any on my boat though.

Something that makes getting rods in and out of rod lockers and out of rod holders easier is to get some rod socks. They're like 5 bucks apiece from Tackle Warehouse or Bass Pro and save tangling line constantly. I just recently bought some and would never go without them again.

I saw this weekend that almost all the new Trackers (TX17, TX19, etc.) come with 45 pound Minn Kotas. Makes me feel good about a 45 lb'er for my 1232.

I bought my 1232 in very similar shape for 50 bucks. I got both patches for the 2 wholes in it welded on out of aluminum angle (they were on the ribs) for $15. 65 dollar boat that now doesn't leak whatsoever and is perfect to take in small water and not worry about? I'd say you can't beat that...

This is what I was trying to explain. If you needed extra height you could just use a thicker base board to get it level with the front of the boat. Should look WAY cleaner than the original sketch you had and also be just as strong. Just screw it down to the boat on all the sides.

It should be alright. The decks are just going to sit on top of the ribs and will be 1/2" plywood. The front seat will only be as tall as the bench and the rear one will be on a bench. It shouldn't be much different than fishing out of it without swivel seats and decks.
