My project was intended to include the OEM metal flake paint but ended up with a non metalic powder coat in a similar powder blue color. Quality repaint ...certainly. original colors definitely not. Diminished value....she's running great...Ill try to post if and when I sell it for the resale...

The caveat I referred to was two fold. First off was that 4 partss (indicated with arrows in following pics) were unable to be powder coated for reasons that have since escaped me. Something about the heat process involed. Some parts were not completely disassembled and had plastic/nylon...

Personally I think the boat slogs along with a top end of 45mph. I must be missing something and not getting the best of the 200 hp. I know its a heavy deep v but still expected at least to crack 50 mph.

All rubber mounts, bushings and grommets were replaced. There were broken pieces of rubber everywhere in places they should'nt be.

What i described is my improvisation of a drift boat anchor system used by fly fishermen drifting moving water. most of those use a pyramid anchor. but that is a constant lift and drop going from spot to spot.

A drift sock will pull you along with the current. Not what you're looking for. Try pulling a magnum bottom bouncer of sorts. An anchor without tinges. The appropriate weight depends of course on depth, current, and desired drift speed. I'd try to find an old (window) sash weight and tie a light...
