    Bunks 3 1/2" side or 1 1/2" side?

True Well dang after looking at how the bunk brackets would mount with the 2x4 on edge, i totally misunderstood how they would mount on the trailer. So yeah they wouldn't help me out. Shortest bracket i could find was 8" lucky me along time ago bought the 10" ones...

    Bunks 3 1/2" side or 1 1/2" side?

I recently installed my bunk boards and feel that the brackets i got put the boat way to high, i prefer my boat rest on the much wider 3 1/2 side of a 2x4. But i saw some brackets that you can turn the boards on edge, and the lower my boat on the trailer. Does the slimmer 1 1/2" side put to...

    New merc outboard

Agree keep us updated, cause there are some good prices on those outboards, and while i like the looks of my vintage Johnson Sea Horse, I shudder to think that if I invest TO much into her to get her running, at what I could have gotten brand new, for even just a little more. Birthday who...

    Working on my Boat (Updated)

I had someone in iboats have me try pushing on the rings of the pistons to see if they move just the littlest bit, and yes all rings do move just a tiny bit. I was told this was a good sign. When you say oil? Is WD40 ok? And I squirt it down the hole where the spark plugs were? Or can I shoot...

    Working on my Boat (Updated)

Ok I did my compression test tonight on my 1956 Johnson 30 HP pull start. Top was 65-70psi Bottom 70-75psi I have no idea if this is good or bad. All we did was pull the spark plugs, plug in the compression tester and pulled away At the motor.

    rusty trailer

mine had surface rust and old black spray paint, and i used one of those sand paper wheels that goes on an angle grinder, takes some time but it does get the job done. If i had it to do over again i would get it sand blasted, local place here quoted me about "ball park" of $70 for that much, to...
