    Ideas for this boat?

What seat options are there for something like this with the back-to-back seating style? Chop off half the stand and put in swivel seating? The seat paltform in it is pretty robust. The fact that 4 seats are in it is a little silly, 4 people in that boat would be ridiculous. Relocating the...

    Ideas for this boat?

Well, had it out today. Things I think it needs: Move battery to the front, noses up way too much... I hate the windshield. Frame is directly in my view... Motor had a hard time engaging reverse, and shook like living hell at trolling speed.... could use some ideas to free up some more space as...

    Ideas for this boat?

Just picked this boat up last weekend. 14 foot Mirrocraft with a 40 HP Merc. Boat is in pretty nice shape, needs only a little work and it's ready to go. I'd like to at least update it a bit. Will be used as a nice little all-around machine. Any ideas?

    1984 Merc 50 Tilt/Trim Pump Leaking questions

It's coming from the top of the valve body, from that little hole. There are no threads in the hole. Only thing I can think of is that maybe there was supposed to be a ball in that hole itself to seal it? I'll get a bit more zoomed out pic to show where the hole is.

    1984 Merc 50 Tilt/Trim Pump Leaking questions

This is driving me batty. Anyone know what would cause this insane leak? Seems like this hole should be plugged maybe? All new O-rings, so that's out. Need to fix this ASAP. bXmR802m9DI

Evinrude 9.5 and Alumacraft Model AL questions

See, that's what I thought. I really expected at least a bit more snot out of it. I do know that it has a fixed high jet. What would be the process to adjust the low needle? Also, I haven't been able to source a new carb kit for it, any suggestions?

Sounds good. My biggest concerns simply stem from not knowing what to expect out of it.

Evinrude 9.5 and Alumacraft Model AL questions

Just picked up a 1965 Evinrude 9.5 for my 1960ish Model AL Alumacraft. Being my first outboard (hell, first boat) I'm looking for any and all suggestions on what I should do to make sure that the motor is in tip-top shape, and any suggestions or tips on operation. That said, I took it for it's...

    Old-School Alumacraft Rebuild

Some updates to share. Decided to throw some paint on it due to boredom. Got a little overzealous and for some ungodly reason I decided to try bright red. Needless to say, I could've shot myself and decided to do a camo/black scheme that turned out really spiffy. Painted the trailer...

    1st boat - 14' SmokerCraft project

Looks like a solid start. I prefer option 2, at least looks-wise. More open space is always good, IMO.

Dustin's 14ft alumacraft conversion... lots of pictures!

I'm in the middle of my project with a very similar boat and this (to me) is the cat's ***. LOVE the totally open floor. I'd really be interested in hearing about the stability. If you find no flex and it's not tippy, I can guarantee this is what will happen on my boat.

Implement Paint and Hardener - Longevity & Durability?

Done quite a bit of searching on different options for paint on my project boat. I've seen a lot of guys using the tractor and equipment paints combined with a hardener to increase durability and hardness. Has anyone given any long-term reports on how this has held up? Every paint looks great...

    everything steelflex

How does this stuff hold up to scratches/scrapes/running aground? I launch out of a couple rivers that have no docks, and you have to beach it to land. Was thinking that paint may not be the best idea in this situation.

    Old-School Alumacraft Rebuild

This weekend's progress included a soak in some really great aluminum brightener. That stuff turned this old, dull, ugly plug into a shiny, bright piece! Did a little modification to the rear rollers on the trailer, got them to fit the boat better. Relocated the one black center roller...

    Old-School Alumacraft Rebuild

Hi there everyone. This is my first post here, and I thought I'd share my restoration and modification of this little old Alumacraft that I bought last week. First off, I was wondering if anyone could help identify exactly what I have here, it's a bit of a mystery to me. On to the pics: Day I...
