Has anyone used an underwater drone to fish?

Just occurred to me that a drone would be another electronic fish-finder for serious fisherman. Did a google search (attached) and it seems there are drones designed for this. Has anyone had any experience with them? Are they too high-tech to be considered sporting...

Take a moment and say good-bye to a great marine mechanic

Lift a glass, float a prayer, give a small salute or just wish a safe journey to a great, talented, and generously-helpful guy who repaired, fixed, or cured motors in the Southern Wisconsin area. Jim died in March, finally succumbing to stage four metastatic small cell cancer. I met him about...

    Can Anyone Identify this equipment?

A friend got this set of Lapland fishing kit. He's identified all but the second-from-bottom item, the long rod with the arrowhead tip. Best guess so far is that is is a pick used to hold a fish down while the hooks and such are removed, but that's just speculation. Any suggestions appreciated

I'm out of the tin rehab hobby...but if I weren't...

I'd be scarfing this right up. Aged Starcraft runabout, looks aluminum to me, and aside from the dust...just needs a motor....(what could go wrong?) Only $30! Yes, I AM an enabler. https://madison.craigslist.org/boa/d/madison-runabout-aged/7217011334.html

Unusual boats found on Craig's List

Pappy said he's seen this type of rig before, but I forget the exact name. Wonder what it would be like with a boat in there at today's highway speeds?

Boat converted to snow machine WITH outboard propulsion !

I was noodling about using an outboard on a jon boat to travel over snow. Did a Google search and sure enough, some one has already done it, for ice. I love it! (Dunno about snow...but a ski set-up might be cobbled.) Enjoy. There's almost no limit to the trouble some men will go to in order...

Need good condition, used, propeller for 1956 Johnson 10 hp

Well, the fuel pump works fine, the motor seems well suited for the 12ft 1956 Alumacraft RB, but... first water trial ended with half-dozen high revs instances on the engine with no speed increase. Apparently the vulcanized rubber between the bronze center and the aluminum prop started...

Anybody use single oar for rowing? (sculling)

Just got the notion to investigate. One oar...like the gondoliers in Venice, or many developing countries...seems to be sufficient for steady, slow, movement...like trolling. :) Looked up a few sites and found this: https://www.duckworksbbs.com/gear/scullmatix/index.htm which seems to be...

    Happy Thanksgiving, all you optimists...

A time to share. :) Ogden Nash, a marvelous writer, and dubiously-skilled poet, was talking with some friends a few days after Thanksgiving. They were bemoaning the turkey hash, turkey soup, turkey sandwiches and other left-over turkey dishes from the holiday. One mentioned how dreadful it...
