I was wondering what the name was of the little brackets I see in alot of people's builds where they are making front decks and are using 2"x2" for the framework and where you can get them from. Thanks.

I was looking at a 14' Crestliner jonboat at Gander Mt. the other but couldn't see what size the floor was. Does anyone know if it's a 1436, or a 1440 or a 1448? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I missed a KILLER deal on a Humminbird 797 SI at Gander Mt. They had an end of season closeout last week and the final price was.....$600!!! I just needed to wait a couple more days for my tax return. I went yeaterday and they are back up to $797.

I never thought about using one of those for that purpose! I have one that I bought as a back-up for my AquaVu, but I'm never out on the ice long enough for the main battery to go dead. You could buy the two pack of these, wire them parralelle and they would last a LONG time.

If there is any pressure treated lumber/ply in the transom, it will react with the aluminum and corrode it.

Yeah, it may be similar to that. All I know is that it goes by the name Marinedeck PTP. Maybe I should just stick to 3/4" ply. The Lowes by me has it and it's seven plies!

I saw it mentioned in a Polarkraft catalog. It was saying how it's guaranteed not to rot. I think they were using it for their transoms. I did a "google" search and every hit seemed to mention pontoon boats using it for their decks.

Can anyone tell me a source for this? I'm starting to put together a plan for replaceing the transom in my Starcraft this spring and something like Marinedeck PTP that doesn't ever rot would be a great idea to use for this purpose I think.

Does anyone here use these and if so, are they reliable? My main concern is interference from the trolling motor itself. I was toying with the idea of mounting an extra Hummingbird mount in my dad's jonboat and then just attaching a spare transducer to the trolling motor when we use the boat...

No, they're solid benches that go down to the floor on the frontside and backside.

Forgive my ignorance, but how would I do that without removing the bench? As you can probably tell, I'm used to just using those clamp on style mounts!

Rereading my post I see I goofed a little. What I meant to ask was does the pedestal get screwed directly to the bench seat of the boat. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm thinking about installing a couple of seat pedestals in my dad's 10 foot jonboat and I was wondering if they were simply screwed into the seat. I was also curious as to whether or not they had any affect-negative or positive- on the balance of the boat.

Forgot to ask in my previous post: How solid are those pedestal bases? Are they simply screwed directly into the seat?
