    1994 Johnson 50/35 Water Pump

Getting my boat back out and ready for fishing now that my son is interested and old enough to go fishing on it. It's sat more or less for the past 2 years. Am getting ready to tackle changing out the water pump impeller, but wanted to see if anyone had any tips/tricks before I get started. Did...

Wife and kids want to raise chickens?

Yeah, I'm sure the cost varies across the country. At that price it would make a bit more sense. But it would still take a LOT for me to get to the point of raising chickens though. I'm cranky enough currently raising 2 kids under 5!!

Wife and kids want to raise chickens?

I know several people that raise chickens. I've heard much complaining from all of them. Everything from the mess, maintenance, stench, predators, etc. Makes it extremely easy for me to never consider raising chickens. Even if it was cost effective, for me, it wouldn't be worth the headache. My...

    Rivets again: rivet bucking tools.

Honestly, I don't know the exact PSI. What I do is get everything setup and take the air hammer with the rivet tool installed to a scrap piece of 2x4. I set the compressor so the rivet tool just slightly dents the wood. This allows enough pressure to properly set the rivet without tearing up the...

    Rivets again: rivet bucking tools.

I've done the same. Not just repair, but setting dozens of rivets on my transom and other spots on my boat when I overhauled it. Harbor Freight 3 gallon compressor, Harbor Freight air impact hammer and appropriate rivet tool. I use the head of a 5# hammer as the bucking tool. Zero issues with...

    Gone Fishing!

I saw Jim post a couple of pictures on Facebook the other night. One looked to be at least a 7#. Hoping he has hit double digits since then.

First Time in the Boat 2021

Sweet!! I've still got nearly 4 weeks before I can finally wet a line for the year. But it'll be for my annual 4 day trip with some buddies to a power plant lake in Virginia. ALWAYS a good time. Am really looking forward to it. Nice to see you back on the forums LDUBS!!!

    Work and Covid

3 positives at my work in the last week, and 1 out so far this week awaiting test results. Our administrators father is dead, mother is in ICU on a vent and husband is at home with bilateral pneumonia......all from Covid. Vaccines started rolling out this week. As a health care worker I should...

    Work and Covid

I work as an Orthopaedic Technologist (casting, splinting, bracing, etc.) in an Orthopaedic office. I've been to work everyday through all of this. April and May were rough with surgery centers and elective surgeries shut down. Thought we were going to start laying off. But things picked back up...

    Flotation

The pink or blue insulation foam from Lowe's or Home Depot is what most use. It's closed cell and doesn't absorb water. I've had it under my floor and seats for 6 or 7 years now with zero issues. I even fill up the hull of my boat a time or two a year to check for leaks. Pulled the floor up a...

    Foam matress

We bought a Purple Hybrid mattress last November. I love it. My wife hates it and ended up putting a foam topper on her side due to it causing her back pain. I was having back pain from our old wore out mattress which went away after getting the Purple. Next time around we'll spring for a Sleep...

2 stroke boat gas in a weed eater.

My old boat gas is all I use in my trimmer and leaf blower. Zero issues. Even put almost 6 gallons of nearly year old gas from the boat into my truck earlier this spring. Again, zero issues.

are you Locked down? lets see your projects...

I have not, but it sounds interesting!! I figure he'll get enough use out of this that if the motors and/or gears implode with the increase in power, it'll be well worth it to upgrade them to keep this tractor running. So far so good though. He's been riding the crap out of it and no issues...

Yes. It's his preferred way to steer around the vehicles in the driveway.
