Removing anode from Yamaha 6 hp

I have to see if I can just loosen the anode screw and slip the fin under the anode. The anode I assume is because in salt water it ends up being sacrificial but I don't think it is an issue in freshwater. The other option is to reduce the size which is a bit big.

Removing anode from Yamaha 6 hp

I run a Yamaha 6hp in freshwater from a trailer, not sitting in the water for long periods of time. Is the anode attached to the cavitation plate necessary? I would like to remove the anode to install some fins. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

    Oar plans

Watch CL for oars! Oars are pretty simple to make but do require a bit of work. You might consider designing them yourself to suit your needs. R. D. (Pete) Culler had some nice designs. https://www.riverswest.org/uploaded_images/pete_culler_oar_plans-%28Custom%29-734906.jpg Spruce or Ash...

New to forum - 12' Lund

Tangling can be a a pain  I used to flyfish from a canoe sitting in the front seat and paddling the canoe stern first. Stripped line into the water which was easy to deal with. I gave up the canoe mainly because I couldn't load it onto the roof of the car any more. The boat is a...

New to forum - 12' Lund

The 12' Lund is a 1999 AC. I'll post a pic when I get one. I'll try experimenting with weight in the bow though space is very limited! Moving the gas tank did help a tiny bit. Another thing I considered is a tiller extension so that I could move to the middle seat but so far I haven't...

    Cutting Angles......That darn boat hull

Though I haven't done exactly what you are doing, I have built wood boats. To get the shape of the deck I would make an undersize template. Cut a triangle of wood, say 6" on a side. Set the template in place. Position a corner of the triangle against the hull and trace the triangle on...

New to forum - 12' Lund

I'm new to the forum and to motor boats for fishing. I bought a 12' Lund which is too small but what I could afford to get on the water. The boat is in nice shape and has a 6 hp Yamaha and sits on a jet ski trailer. So far my only gripe with the boat is that my 200# holds down the transom...
