Just thought I'd share this tip for all the other tightwads out there! I had a broken aluminum lawn chair that had the perfect size tubing to fit snug over my shifter.(I have a 1968 20hp johnson). I just cut off a straight piece the length I needed and lightly tapped it onto my shifter. This stuff is super light so it formed to the lever. Then I just put a small self tapping screw in the side just to keep it attached. It works great! Especially when I'm running limb lines along the river. This was pretty much a free mod because I had the stuff layin around. Thanks for the great website! I've got tons of ideas off of here! Keep up the good work!
