 9:00AM-2:00PM Moderate wind, partly sunny, stained water, 40-50 air temps, 47-50 water temps. I decided to use some vacation days from work early this year. Took today and the rest of the week off.
Hit a public pond in South Jersey. This is my 11th year fishing this little gem. Started out slow with no bites until 11:00AM. I was mostly using a DT-3 crank, SK Redeye lipless crank, and a chatterbait in the deeper parts of the pond. Got my first fish(14" LM) on a Booyah Boogee Bait(Chatterbait) in about 4' of water. Retrieval was at a medium pace.
Worked the same areas over and over rotating lures. Finally got some more action, nailing a keeper bass on the SK REDEYE. Then another. Next one hit like a freight train. A 4lb 9oz. chunk. Next cast, BOOM, 3lb 6oz. The bigger fish hit the Redeye retrieved at a fast pace. Finished the day with one more nice bass. Ended up with 6 LM, all caught around the same area.
