    1994 Northwoods 1675 - re build

Built the framework using 2x2's and 2x2 Rigid Tie Bracket's that I bought at our local Home Depot. Used coated deck screws all around and then sealed the wood. Got the ply all cut to fit and started carpeting the past few days. My finger tips and angry with me at the moment :). There was a live...

    1994 Northwoods 1675 - re build

Spent the day ripping out the old carpet and floors. The previous owner used GT ply in a few spots and ended up carpeting over the carpeting. I just shake my head. -Kassun

    1994 Northwoods 1675 - re build

Bought this boat back a few years ago. The floor structurally isn't in good shape. So it's time to gut and start fresh and customize it to my needs. -kassun

"Is the very most front piece screwed down to the wood frame below":: Nope it just lays on top of the rib coming up from the bow. I never used it as a casting deck, just a place to hide my anchor and life jackets. "do the hinges open both the very front section (so you can get to your...

New project and a pick of the last one

Well I picked up the 25 hp Johnson after a good look over and running. The wife was pleased and said we had to take it out right away. So I bolted her on and off we went. The motor ran flawlessly and the boat just flew on the water. I'll take some pics of the solar lights if I get some time...

New project and a pick of the last one

Going after work tonight to check out a 25hp Evenrude Long shaft. Hopefully if everything goes well I'll be testing her out tomorrow out on the water in my boat. It should be a a bit of a step up from my 9.9 short shaft that's on there now, and i can take off my homemade transom extension. I'll...

    Battery placement?

I found for me that the best placement was all the way up in the bow. 2 reasons, kept the bow down much better and when i am fishing off the back i am not running into the battery and gas tank. -Kassun

New project and a pick of the last one

Will get some pics tomorrow, my wife and I spent all evening on the new boat. My wife had put in the drain plug, but didn't expand it all the way. So after I parked the trailer I walked down only to discover that there was water pouring out from the plug. Ran up put the boat back on the trailer...

New project and a pick of the last one

My neighbor's friend gave me a 1964 Evinrude 9.5. It had sat for roughly 10 years in his garage under a tarp, but to my surprise it fired and purred on the 3rd pull. It is a short shaft and my boat takes a long shaft, so I searched at my local dealers, however no one had a stationary mount, all...

New project and a pick of the last one

I traded my old boat in and paid difference (boat was priced at 1500. I got a pretty good deal, because the 16' lund they had reserved for me was sold out from under my salesman. My boat came with a Minkota 42lb thrust bow mounted motor, but it doesn't have a petal to operate it, so I'm not sure...

New project and a pick of the last one

Well I happily found this site last year and went out and purchased my 1st fishing boat. It was a 14' shallow sylvan bare bones. I put floor in and a few storage compartments. It made it through the year and was good to us and spent the winter in our garage. I went out yesterday and got a great...

I got a boat for free this past weekend w/ a trailer. the trailer was 125.00 and well worth the money. It's a shell lake 14ft fiberglass boat. He threw in a 1956 15hp Oliver Model K outboard for free. She starts but doesn't want to run so I will see what I can do, she's a classic. I'll post...

Thanks guys, I started work @ 7am and finished at 2:30am the next morning and I have the hand blisters from stapling to prove it :). The cutting went pretty fast, the stapling seamed to take for ever. I got her out on Sunday morning and had a blast. I really enjoy the floors for casting and the...

    14' Slyvan mods

My main concern is the hull flexing resulting in some of the rivets leaking or worse. I have read a few horror stories, that's mostly what is making me shy away. I considered taking it out and on the sides coming out approx 16"-18" inches on both sides and making 2 long rectangular storage...

I've decided to keep the middle bench in for now. I found some rigid cardboard and it took roughly 3 hours to get the measurements and fits just right. Tomorrow i will work on the elevation off of the hull and cut and shave 2x4's as needed to get the contour just right. And then mount that to...
