1548 Lowe rough neck wanting to add deck space and storage

I recently fully redid inside and out of my 2000 Lowe rough neck. Put aluminum floors, painted the inside and out, full rewire. I’ve took it out a few times and I want more deck and storage. I have a pretty good mechanical and tool skills just looking for some input of angle iron size, runner, cross bar spacing. How to properly cutout and support storage compartments in exiting deck. I also plan on extending the front deck another 2-3 foot any advice/tips are welcome please and thank you.

Look at truck "toolboxes:" of the appropriate size, once modified they will provide storage as well as extending the front deck......
