I am thinking of buying a hand held GPS for my fishing buddy in the near future.... Nothing extravagant, but I DO want to get a one that preforms well and has a decent price tag. Any suggestions anyone?

The Lowrance Ifinder series get excellent reviews and are fairly cheap.

I myself have a Garmin 60csx. A nice unit also, kind of high priced when compared to the ifinder series and it does burn through batteries every 8-9 hours.

I have the garmin 60cs. It has alot of great features that I use for boating and Atving. But like Jim said they are pricey. Maybe look at the garmin etrex. Not to expensive.

I have a Garmin eTrex Venture HC. It does everything that I need it to like marking drops and brushpiles.

The base maps are really lacking but if all that you want it for is marking waypoints and tracks to find later, it works really well.

I have a Lowrance IFinder H2O I got awhile back and never used. Cheapest I found this item is $169.00. I'll part with mine for for $75.00 plus shipping @ $4.95. No problems with it. Good when you need to get back to your buddies honey hole.

With money order I'll ship immediately. Check I'll wait to clear.

Thank you all for your suggestions, I will research those and see what I can do :) Having a GPS on board will be nice for marking some hot spots on our many ventures on the water :)
