motor guide 1230

I got this thing from me cousin and it has a black wire yellow wire and white wire on a circle plug .
how do I wire this thing to use directly off battery and what wire is the hot .
it has a foot petal and is a bow mount, plus I need to find out if it works.

thanks for the looks, I took all the tape off of it and it turns out it is a two wire they added a three wire plug so I just cut the plug off.
tested it worked well now to store it for back up.
