replace a drain plug channel

is this the plug assembly you are referring to? by the looks of the plug, it looks like I would just need to drill a hole, seal and screw it in place. no need for a drain channel like I currently have (if i wanted to relocate the drain hole)

Yep, note that the replacement plug is 3/4 the cost of a new one. That's probably the only downside of that style drain plug (you can get the rubber style at any WalMart but order the other one.

For your application I'd try cleaning up the outer end of your existing drain hole first so the 'T' style rubber plug will fit. Another option is get the smaller 3/4" plug and silicone a piece of PVC or aluminum tubing into your buggered existing tube. If that doesn't work go with the plastic style.

I have the 1" 'T' style on mine and keep a spare in the tool bag. A drop of oil on the threads keeps it moving freely.
