    Line X today

With the 5/15 primer didn't you say they have to wait 5 hours then line it WITHIN 15 hours? Looks like they might have missed their window.

    200hp Mercury Optimax

Honestly don't mean to be a smarta$$, but you said the boat was a '95...not necessarily the motor...or did they tell him the motor was also a '95. I was thinking first year run was around '97 but haven't looked it up.Tons of rigs out there that the boat and motor aren't the same year...just...

    Self etching primer

I was at Lowes yesterday and they had the Rust -Oleum self etching primer in the spray cans for about $4.49 a can. Not much of a savings over Wal Mart, but they do have it AND its cheaper...every little bit helps. That brings up another point. I have seen a ton of items in the Wal Mart...

Fishing pole for a 5 year old

I have two boys...12 and 15 now....but years ago I bought them their first "real" rods/reels (Disney, Nickelodeon, cartoon themes didn't qualify). I bought two 5'6" Shakespeare Ugly Stiks and and I put an old Zebco 33 on one and an old Zebco 404 on the other. Those Ugly Stiks are pretty tough...

    Boomerang jon comes back...ID help?

Makes sense...I can remember running WOT across open water on Lake Martin (a loooong time ago before age restrictions on boaters) in rough stuff,weather,etc.. and it handled it OK...for a Jon.

    Johnson JBF4Y trolling motor opinions

Absolutely agree...I just have to determine where the line between common sense and my laziness intersect. BTW, that line seems to adjust with age. Really with me it depends on where I'm fishing...<25 acre pond I'll risk paddlin'...on Lake Martin or Jordan and I want backup (being towed really...

    Johnson JBF4Y trolling motor opinions

Had an old jon "given back" to me but the original trolling motor had been stolen, so the guy gave me a Johnson JBF4Y 12/24 foot control trolling motor to replace it. Tried googling, etc... but theres not alot of info out there...except I did found quite a few very positive comments in general...

    Boomerang jon comes back...ID help?

JasonAlex84......thanks for the idea, I'll check with pj office Monday. And of course...WDE....We (me and the 2 sons) just got home from the A-Day game...they were playing the BCS game on the big screen before the scrimmage. I got the boys field access at halftime and they're still on cloud...

    Boomerang jon comes back...ID help?

Yea, it does seem pretty stout, and there are LOTS of other stories that the boat was part of. It was kinda funny that dad and doc (his friend) had a selection of 4 other boats to pick from (all bigger, fancier, and significantly more expensive) and they used this jon probably 75% of the time...

    Boomerang jon comes back...ID help?

Does anybody know who made this old jon? Really upswept bow, 2 transom braces and 3 full seats are a little distinctive. Its a 14 footer, 38" wide in the bottom and 53" across top. Dad bought this from his best friend/fishin' bud in mid 80s...dad passed in '02 and mom then gave it to another of...

whats wrong with my motor?(acts different now)

Ethanol gas is terrible for carbs and fuel systems that weren't designed to use it...(I don't think its good for those that were either). Check out this web site...you can probably find a station close to you that has non-E gas. We have a few in Montgomery. https://pure-gas.org/ I REFUSE to use...

Newbie neeeds help identifying 14' jon boat

Now THAT'S a jon boat...here in the heart of dixie you are required to have limbs, firewood and a cinder block anchor to qualify. It looks a lot like mine when its not being used. Most people load their boat to go fishing...I have to unload mine! Seriously, thats a great looking boat...looks...
