    Polishing Aluminum

I have been using the rake regularly. I just really don’t understand. I finally quit trying to understand and started using my da buffer with a foam cutting pad to ‘clean’ the area. After a few passes with my da and polishing compound, it looks quite good.

    Polishing Aluminum

I’m in the process of rubbing out my 1959 Sea King. I’m using Airway buffing wheels and Zephyr compound. I’m getting good results but, I keep getting into areas where the compound seems to stick to certain areas. If you’ve used compound and buffs you know you start low and work to the top. A...

    Buffing out aluminum boat

I’m starting the process of polishing the hull on my 1959 Sea King. Many videos advocate sanding with 320 and then buffing with wheel and brown bar. Is it necessary to start with the sand paper? What’s your opinion?

    Unpainted aluminum hull issues

Your boat looks absolutely amazing. How did you happen to settle on turtle wax. Do you feel other products will do an equally good job or is turtle wax a superior product?

Thank you for your reply. When you purchase aluminum, what grade do you use and where do you purchase it?

What type of finish do you suggest? I’d like to see the natural grain and also have a good gloss.

I hope to get some advice. I’ve included a picture of my mock up template. I want to create a dashboard panel for my instrument cluster. I want to include speedometer, switches, key switch, hoke and horn buttons and kill lanyard. I’m trying to decide on material. Stainless steel or polished...

Installing a switch panel to eliminate my birds nest

Seems like sound advice. Is there a particular brand you recommend? It seems everyone buys Amazon, I’d want the best.

    1959 Sea King

Wow! You’ve done an excellent job on your boat. Two questions; did you shine it with a rotary wheel and clay bars? How do you maintain the shine? Wax? Also I’d like to see a picture of the floor boards you’ve created. Do they attach in some way?

    1959 Sea King

I appreciate you responding to my post. Those engines are beautiful and obviously one belongs on my boat. Currently I’m quite happy with the RD-18 I have on the boat. I would be curious what the price is and if you have the controls.

    1959 Sea King

I have a 1959 Sea King. I have no idea which model it is. I cannot find any plate with model or serial number. I am curious if someone can identify or knows of a resource to research information on my boat. I checked Google and Facebook with no luck. Thanks in advance.
