Post a Pic of your boat!

Just picked this up last week for dirt cheap because of a large hole that required patching. 1977 Fisher Marine Water Strider with a 1985 35hp Merc, will be set up for bowfishing with an elevated front deck, 7-150w HPS lights all being pushed by a 2000w Yamaha genny!

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

    My apologies sir!

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

The video does not show a shock leader, it shows a Spinner Reel loaded full of 200# fast flight bowfishing line. I personally use a similar line called Monkey Wire. Won't see to many, if any, tournament winners using saftey slides!

anyone bowfish from a small flatbottom?

A lot of people like Halo's, they just require so much Power per Lumen of light, they are very inefficient compared to HPS MH and LED. I can run 3 or 4 150w HPS with capacitors off my 800w harbor frieght genny. I could only power 1-500w or 2-300w halos off the same genny.

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

This is like rationalizing with my sister kids. Slides are for kids, not arrows!

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

There is no risk of SnapBack when using 200lb fast flight or similar line, it is designed to break if the line gets hung up. Therefore it renders the slide useless!!! The slides are only necessary on retrievers, which suck anyways. The slide itself causes all kinds of accuracy problems, and...

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

My point is you're implying it's less safe when in fact actually more safe to tied to the back

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

Thousands of shots, numerous tangles, ABSOLUTELY ZERO SNAPBACKS!!!!!

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

So on this very thread there is evidence of SnapBack using AMS saftey slides. Which don't actually work since the arrow can clearly snap back. The line can still get tangled coming out of the retriever and therefor SnapBack. I show you a video with a set up that eliminates the possibility of...

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

Clearly you haven't seen this video.... Lose the retriers and start tying to the arrow https://bow.fishingcountry.com/forums/showthread.php?3406-WBG444-snap-back-video

Has anyone ever had an arrow 'snap-back'?

Get rid of those retrievers and hand feels, rig up a muzzy spinner with 200lb fast flight. If the line tangles it will break in 2. Saftey slides don't work, I tie the fast flight right to the back of the arrow. There's a video online showing a guy shooting a kids bow at 15lbs or so purposely...

anyone bowfish from a small flatbottom?

You'll need a bigger genny to push Halos, get LEDs instead. Here's what I fish from, I made this specifically for bowfishing. Running 7-150w HPS lights, and a 55ftlb minkota powered by a powermax55 all from a 2000w Yamaha genny.
