Exhaust is through hub. The oil I used is blue. Gonna go with this being from the exhaust. Thanks for the input guys. This is my first outboard and I think I keep looking for problems that may not be there.

Johnny, Thanks for your well written response. I believe you may have hit the nail on the head. Two days later, and the primer can still be easily scratched right off. I'm just not sure why so many people recommend this primer if it is so temperamental to work with. I am no professional...

My advice is to absolutely get that crack repaired. You should be able to find a shop that welds aluminum for a reasonable price. Definitely don't want a crack in the transom.

Took out all of mine possible. If my boat sinks I know how to swim and always have a life jacket. Although, I removed my foam due to water logging. Boat must be 30 lbs. lighter now.

Well, crud. I put the first coat on super light, but there was quite a bit of bare aluminum so I put on a second coat to cover all the aluminum. I really don't wanna scrape this boat down again. It has been a pretty big task.
