    Removing thru-hull drain tubes?

10-4 That is what I was afraid of. I may try to put a cutting disk on my dremel and see if I can cut the flange off from inside the tube. Then I can maybe hammer the two pieces out from the opposite sides...

    Is this corrosion?

Make sure you get all of the carpet off of your trailer bunks too. As soon as you dip the trailer one time in saltwater, it will hold salt forever. And it will hold it against the hull of your boat. Thus eating your hull while you sleep and work... 24-7/365. Get some of the Tie-Down...

    Transducer throwing water into boat???

There is a plastic puck that snaps into place that fills the hole where you can see between the transducer and the transom. Also, it looks from the pics that it is mounted a 1/4 inch low. The bottom of the boat should be even with the middle of the transducer itself. Not the mount. It is...

    Removing thru-hull drain tubes?

Anyone have any tips on removing thru-hull drain tubes from an aluminum boat? I have two drain tubes in the splashwell of my Starcraft Mariner. I need to pull the splashwell to do a transom job. The wood core is sandwiched between the outer skin and the well. So, I have to remove the drain...

    Transducer throwing water into boat???

If it is a Humminbird transducer, did you put the little spacer in the space between the mount and the adjustment screw. That little black "puck" is there for that reason.

Electro-Etching Aluminum to make engraved switch panels

This also works on steel or iron parts to remove rust. I used this on ALOT of parts when restoring an old Datsun 510 Wagon a few years ago. Wanna talk about a tin boat! haha

    Question on Transom bonding

I am doing this in a Starcraft Mariner 210. It's a 21ft Aluminum Center console with a splashwell. I'll be laminating two sheets of 3/4 Marine ply using Epoxy resin. I will then cover all sides of it with 6 or 8oz glass cloth and epoxy resin. It should last a year or two. haha I just needed...

    Floor material preferred?

I ended up buying one of the boats. The floor has been completely removed by the previous owner, so I will have to start from scratch. Originally, I was thinking about laying the floor in 4 or 5 sheets, then glassing over them to make them one. But I couldn't figure out an easy way to get...

    Question on Transom bonding

Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't think that it was, but it just seems un-natural. haha I've only worked on glass boats. They are bonded.

    Question on Transom bonding

I just picked up an 86 Starcraft Mariner 210 that haas a COMPLETELY rotted transom and no floor. The transom is going to completely fall apart when I take it out. So I am going to have to make a template to put it back. Oh joy? When replacing, is the wooden transom somehow bonded to the...
