All I can say is wow!! Looks great with plenty of room to move around. The top is a real nice touch and just the thing when that sun is high in our tn summer sky. I've been waiting to see the finished project and now I am ready to get started on my build. Hope it comes out as nice as yours.
So after it died was the priming bulb still pumped up or soft. If soft you could have a fuel pump problem or sucking air in the fuel system. Did you clean the carbs or drain them? You can eliminate the pump by manually pumping the bulb while operating the engine. But you'll be tired after...
I don't know much about oil injection because the motors I worked on have had it bypassed before I messed with them. But I believe that oil is mixed with the fuel at the fuel pump. I don't believe there is any timing involved in the injection pump. My thought is in draining the carbs they...
You said he put a coil on it and it ran ok for a couple trips. Did he replace the plugs? If the problem seemed ok after replacing the coil maybe you have a plug breaking down. If it is ignition related and the plugs haven't been replaced it won't hurt to have a new set anyways. Hard to start...
Wow!! Sure shows this ain't your first rodeo. Really like the storage on the side benches. Seeing yours gives me an idea what mine may look like. (I hope half as good as yours) Had the same type of layout in mind. Just getting started on my 1648 polarcraft, and wanted to hide the floor robbing...
Look like your hands and a lot of free time are going to be busy for awhile. Glad mine is all open and not had anything done to it yet. Good luck on the build. You should be pretty good with aluminum welding when you get to the end. Lolh
Ditto as for what was just said. The only thing I can add is if you have to drill any rivets be easy on the drill as you go thru the rivet. I have he the bit grab and pull it self into the hole, and as thin as the skin on the outside is , punch a hole. This isn't major just another step to...
Really nice looking boat!! Lots of potential. As was said earlier you need to see what your working with. Slow and easy. There is a world of knowledge here and you will get answers to all your questions. If at all possible I would try to ease the floor out. Just to get a good look and clean it...
Pappy is 100 percent right in what should be done on this motor. Everyone who I've known that has had one and doesn't own it now compares everything they've had and have to it. You asked the question minimal budget. When you say that there are risks with short cuts. That being said I have had...
If your looking at the wire At the top of choke solenoid a bolt thur it to mounting bolt that isn't there. That is the ground for the electric choke. Looks like purple on one side and ground on the other. When cleaning the carbs try to run something thru all the holes and passages. Sound like...
Don't know which I am. Billy bob, or Bubba. LOL. Great catch on the missing cable. After I blew it up as big as I could, sssss I did get bit by that snake. First time trying to help someone this way. What takes 15 mins to do in person taking this long is hard. You wish you could just drive over...
