Looking at a used 1999 Saturn SL1 for my kid. 140,000 miles for $1300. Great price, pics look good too. Wondering if anyone has experience with this car and can point out any problems with this vehicle model type that I should look for? Any input would be great. Much thanks!

I was really rewinding the rope back onto the spool. Let me ask, if the coil is still intact and I rewind it, how do I know if I tightened the coil enough? Any tips on that?

it's still protruding in the cup

I have a '82 Johnson 9.9 and the pull rope won't retract back into the recoiler. I've tried rewinding it back onto the spool and it still won't retract so I'm assuming something broke within the part. Does anyone have any experience with this or have any tips of what I should try before taking...

Finally got around to taking final pics with the suggestions given in earlier posts. Here are shots with the recessed holes for the clamps and the mount secured to the boat with cables. The next time I'm out, I'll take some video. Thanks again for the suggestions!

Well, I'm back to square one. When I put it in forward gear, the lower unit goes right into place and I can screw the lower unit back into place but I can't get it to go into forward gear afterwards. I tried again with it in reverse and the shifting cable is to far up to connect with the clamp...
