JTR, Not many NW style boats runners on this site. Most here run the jon style boats with outboard jets. You may try meanchicken.net

Just a question regarding Jets vs protected props

Well the reason those boats have those is because the Coast Guard requires lifeboats to have propeller guards. The point of a jet is to have nothing or almost nothing(outboard jets) sticking below the bottom of the hull. Even with the propeller guard on those boats if you would hit a log or...

    Best of both worlds

Before I went to a jet boat, I had a great family boat that was an adequate fishing boat. It was a 1998 Lowe LS 1900 aluminum deck boat. It had a 1115 Evinrude. I often had four guys crappie fishing, but the size just made it a little hard to handle with a trolling motor in tight spots. The...

    Suggestions for a new boat

To haul that kind of load I would go with a V8 inboard boat. Not sure about your area, but the fish and ski aluminum jets are very common in MO. Here is a builder that will customize it about any way you want: https://www.precisionjetboats.com I went with a NW style aluminum jet boat to get...

    jet jon builder?

Yes companies like Riverwild, JBM (Jet Boat of Montana) https://www.jetboatsofmontana.com/, and FireFish https://www.firefish.ca/boats.php will build you a new aluminum jet boat, but your looking and 30-40K minimum. The question you stated was finding someone to turn your glass boat into a jet...

Can anyone help me ID this boat?

I think it's a Sea Nymph, Model year 1983 manufactured in May. SEA was the manufactures code for Sea Nymph, but was switch to OMC when Genmar bought all those companies out. So you might contact OMC and see if they have all those old records, here are the links to the pages I got the info from...

Are plastic thru hull fittings OK under water?

Just be sure to get a thru-hull fitting that is approved for below the water line. I would only use the Marelon products by Forespar.

Jet boats seem to be the Rage....?

Well I can agree on some jet boats, but a well desinged inboard jet with the right pump can do amazing things. Just lookup videos on youtube of the boats that run Hells Canyon and those waters in the NW. You don't see prop boats running true white water.

    WakeBoard converted to Alum JonBoat

I don't think they even tried towing a wakeboard with it. I don't see a tow spool anywhere on that tower. That is some funny sh*$ !!!

    Need help with registration sticker

Rather than put more adhesive on it, I would just mask off the area for the tag and wet sand with some 400 to 600 grit and make it smooth. Don't know if this will work in your situation, but may be worth a try. Saw your build thread, nice looking boat!!!

thinking about building a jet boat

I think all the guys were recommending with the PWC powerplant is a good power to weight ratio. By far the best is the Mercury Sportjet as a complete package and compact size for a small jet boat. Most iron block 6 and 4 cylinder engines just don't give a respectable performance in the power...

    fold down bow aluminum boat

Semo, the ones I have seen on the web are from the big brands like Custom Weld, Riddle Marine, Almar, and Koffler. Closer to home I have seen one at Precision Water and Power Sports. They are rigging some of there own boats called Precision jet boats. I think all the hulls are built by Miracle...
