I have a old steel row boat trailer I'd like to lengthen the tongue on. My options are 16, 14, 12, and 11 gauge steel. What is everyone's experience or recommendation? I have a early 60's 14' alumacraft boat that the trailer pulls. I'm finding it is easier and cheaper to lengthen the tongue...

Good afternoon to all. I purchased a vintage alumacraft bot early this spring and was told there was no hin number. While removing the paint from the inside i found a number on the inside stamped on the rib just under the transom. Ideas what it could be or mean? Thanks for the info.
