    Alternative to Gluvit

Once the weather turns nice (maybe soon? Never?) here in New England I’d like to get started on my 13’ Duranautic Coastie. First is addressing the bottom of the boat. It’s bare metal and the seams have already been filled with either marine/JB weld. I don’t have any reason to think the boat...

    Trouble with hull ID

Thanks all for your help…I used the letter “I” as the last digit and the registry accepted it. Perhaps I got lucky but it seems like I do have an M-code HIN. Thanks again.

    Trouble with hull ID

Good evening, I bought a 13' Duranautic Coastie back in February. Now that I am ready to register it, I am having an issue with the hull ID number. The boat year, according to the ID plate, is 1975. I understand, however, after 1972, all boats manufactured had to have a 12 digit hull ID. This...

    Duranautic 13’ Coastie

Thanks for the insight, much appreciated. It is bare metal so if decide not to paint, would it hurt to epoxy the bottom with Gluvit epoxy and not paint for peace of mind? Once the spring arrives I am debating on how crazy I want to go with an engine. Since I’ll primarily being using it on the...

    Duranautic 13’ Coastie

Thanks for the insight…got a chance to look under the boat today. Looks like there are several spots where someone applied 3M marine adhesive sealant (5200 fast cure). Any way I can remove this stuff and start fresh and see what I am working with? Sanding it down, perhaps?

    Duranautic 13’ Coastie

Thanks for this. Do you ever paint the bottom or leave it bare?

    Duranautic 13’ Coastie

I just found that Marathon, who make these now, sell matching paint for $58 a can! Yikes…

What’s the thickness of this? Also, SS screws no?

    Duranautic 13’ Coastie

Picked this up today for $600, figured the price was decent given the market for 12-14ft boats. Not sure if I am going to clean her up and use it or sell but thought this one was pretty neat. Built like a tank! It's been awhile since I last owned an aluminum boat but a couple of housekeeping...

    TM wiring and battery box...

When you guys run the connectors from a TM to a plastic battery box, do you just cut a hole in top of the box to access the battery posts? Obviously the cover is suppose to stay on so I was wondering how people rig their connections since there is no opening... Thanks.

    Anyone know about this part?

That's what I figured - I always liked these outboards, too. Seems like everytime I find one there is an issue. Thanks for the advice!

    Anyone know about this part?

Check out this ad on CL: https://nh.craigslist.org/boa/3055541758.html Says the part missing is obsolete ....is this true or could I get a steal?

Hey how's that Johnson 6 horse treating you?

    Looking for advice...

Simon, Looks like you just bolted that plywood down to the existing front seat, no? Looks sturdy. Looks like the foam in the seats you took out did not really have an affect on the boat either.

    89' GameFisher 14' V MOD "Kinda Finished"

Driftingrz, Looks great - I am looking to do something similar with my 14ft. I want to remove the middle bench (had three bench seats) and do something simple just like you. I am curious to know: How did you measure the braces for the plywood in your boat? Obviously, you can't just pop a piece...
