I've been wanting one of these things since last Fall. So I searched and researched and finally found a price which I thought was reasonable. $420 out the door as opposed to $500 plus shipping($25) and FFL handling ($35) on Gunbroker.com and Gunsamerica.com Whutdoyathink?

I applied the Steelflex with teflon (I think they call it super slick) on my duck boat with mud motor and later found several areas had cracked and flaked off on the bottom. I also applied it to the sides, but no flaking there. I assume the bottom cracked due to running over some obstacles ...

Back to work on the project today. Haven't had as much time to work as my last boat.

Good Call ! And you are correct ! Just found a VIN plaque at the front of the boat, that's long been painted over. I've got it soaking in some paint stripper so I can read it, but I was able to make out MonArk. Nice job !

Wow, its been a couple of weeks since my last update. I've been working on the boat but welding on the new sides has taken longer than I anticipated and there wasn't anything new to show. But I've made progress, completed the sides, moved onto the transom and front.

Disclaimer: no I've never owned one but ... I've looked them over pretty heavily. They are a VERY popular boat with the mud motors, namely Mud Buddy who (I believe) owns a part of the business. Excel is on the cutting edge of aluminum boat design. They've developed craftsmanship not heard...

Sorry can't comment on the eye and winch problem (my experience is with other setups) but KUDOS on the camo clad, you did a great job. I never disliked mine except for the problems I had (which you are aware of). But when it came time to pull that stuff off .... WOW what a pain in the arse ...
