    Long time been away

Crazyboat I am a man of faith and yes God and my loving wife are the only way I've managed so far. People from Florida to Pennsylvania are praying for me daily. I go to Cleveland Clinic this Friday 06/12/20 to see a new doctor and begin the process again with different departments. Hopefully...

13 years of Tin Boat fun

I've been gone for awhile as well Captain. Mainly because family life got in the way. Now my health is going crazy. Something going on doctors can't figure out. I was at Cleveland Clinic 4 times last year. Going back this Friday for another go round. Condition came back with added symptoms...

    Batteries

I’ve been using the Duracell AGM batteries made by East Penn Manufacturing(Deka Batteries) located in Pennsylvania. Sam’s Club sells them at a decent price and I’ve had nothing but good fortune with them. Family owned/American made product which is hard to find in a battery anymore. Most of them...

    Long time been away

Hey guys it's been quite awhile since I've been here. Let's just say life's been happening. Five years before I retired from truck driving I went back to night shift linehaul runs. Trying to make things easier on my back instead of daytime deliveries. I succeeded and on 04/11/2014 I hung it up...

First Boat Project - 1989 Tracker Pro 17

Check your transom board while you've got it torn down. My 89 model was rotten. Had to cut the cap off on the rear and pull it out. I'm going to rebuild one and glass it so it will last longer.

1989 bass tracker pro 17 rebuild - livewell question

SSSSHHHHHH Josh don't say this very loud or everybody will be buying a boat and we won't have our peace and quiet for long. I messed up several years ago and took my non-fishing wife at the time on several fishing trips with me. After about the third time she says "I know why you do this...

1989 bass tracker pro 17 rebuild - livewell question

 Dang wonder what the heck caused that ? Pulling a power head can be done. You'll need some way to lift the head straight off and set it straight back down so you don't get the exhaust gaskets and plates out of line when you do it. I have a Mercury lift ring that screws in to the flywheel...

1989 bass tracker pro 17 rebuild - livewell question

Hey Josh you could always call a marine dealer and give them the serial number and model number of your engine and they can tell you what maximum and ideal WOT rpm is.

1989 bass tracker pro 17 rebuild - livewell question

Hey Josh you're most welcome buddy. If I can help somebody else out and save them from some of the headaches I've experienced already then just maybe it will come back around and somebody can help me out I hope. Of course most people that know me say I'm beyond help. But hey please...

Does a small deep cycle, sealed battery exist?

The new Optimas made in mexico are overpriced and are not worth a crap. If you have a Sam's Club go there and look at the Dura Cell AGM deep cycle battery. These are made by Deka/East Penn Manufacturing and are well worth the money. The group 29 size may work for what you're wanting to do. As...

    summer weather and "abandon" canoes.....

Ah to be young again =D> One time I was prefishing for a tourney and was on the trolling motor easing along into a cove and noticed a pontoon boat anchored in the back. At first it seemed to be unoccupied but after getting a little closer I heard somebody say "Oh chit there's a guy...

1989 bass tracker pro 17 rebuild - livewell question

Every thing looks top notch to me. That's a fine job. =D> Aint no reason why fish wouldn't want to go for a ride in that rig. Now get out there and enjoy yourself and reap the rewards of your hard work. By the way the console looks great to me don't know what all you did to it but it looks fine...

    I wanna go fast!

Don't know if you'd be interested but I have a CMC PT-35 tilt/trim unit that would work with your clamp on style outboard for sale. Not only would it set your motor back another 5.5 inches like a jack plate but it would raise it the extra 1.5-2 inches you're looking for plus give you adjustable...

    Making my own fuel tanks?

Look at this Moeller 3 gallon tank on Bass Pros website. It may be just what you need. I bought this and have it in my 1436 MonArk on one side and the trolling batt on the other. Here's the link: https://www.basspro.com/Moeller-Marine-Products-360-Series-Portable-Fuel-Tanks/product/10210684/

1989 bass tracker pro 17 rebuild - livewell question

Looking good. I got the Ranger home last Tuesday. We stayed an extra day at the wife's sister's house. Then I had to get up Wed. and help my daughter move out of the townhouse she'd been renting. She bought a house and is having it remodeled first so 3/4 of her stuff is now in my rec room...

1989 bass tracker pro 17 rebuild - livewell question

Hey Josh everything is looking good. I finally water tested my 14' flat bottom I'm selling it all went great. Now I just have to put a floor in it and call the 2 people who are interested in buying it. Hopefully one of them will take it and I won't have to advertise this thing. Going this...

Truck tool box for bench seat in re build?

Most of the lids have a stiffener welded in them across the width to kepp them from sagging. The bottom does not on any of the boxes therefore that's why the side box he put on the truck began sagging underneath. The tool boxes made for the bed of the truck will sag on the bottom as well unless...

What do you do for a living? or Fun (boating not allowed)

I just retired on April 10, 2014 from a company I worked for a total of 37 years. I drove tractor-trailers for 32 of those 37. I have to say I don't miss it a bit. I love to fish and plan to get back into fishing tourneys soon, used to hunt (with rifle and bow) deer, turkey, and sometimes...

    Aluminum bolts on transom?

Take a pocket knife and if you can shave off a piece of the bolt easily it's aluminum if not it's SS. Cannot imagine them using aluminum bolts to hold an outboard on with do to stretch. That's why they use fine thread SS bolts because the coarse thread bolts stretch under pressure. I just about...
