    Shimano Metanium MG DC

Holy cow what a reel! Those "economic stimulus" checks should be coming in a couple months...maybe that could be your excuse for getting one Jim. You'd just be doing your part to help your country if you bought it. Frankly I think it would be unfair to all of America if you didn't buy one. I'd...

    mend it glue

Nope didn't work on the Senko. It worked fine on a couple other sticks though. I rarely use actual Senkos anymore so it's not a big problem for me. I think it will work well for swimbaits.

    mend it glue

I just bought a bottle of Mend-It on friday. Haven't used it much yet and I have mixed feelings so far. I can't see myself bringing it in the boat and using it while fishing, but it should be good for repairing expensive plastic baits when I'm at home. The mends are soft and pliable, with no...

    Jon Boat Project

Terrific job! That's a really great looking boat. Now I remember why I don't look in the Boat forums much. Because when I see all the beautiful mods all you guys have done to your boats, I remember what a piece of garbage mine is.

    Shimano Customer Service

I knew Shimano had a reputation for good customer service, but they really seem to go out of their way. Sounds like you guys have experienced this already. Coincidentally I also cashed my rebate check yesterday for the Curado I bought in late December. Might have to pick up another reel before...

    Shimano Customer Service

A couple weeks ago I sent two reels in to Shimano for repair. My Calcutta 251 and a Corsair 401 that I use for headboat fishing. These things were messed up, especially the Corsair. I was just gonna order some parts and fix em myself but they needed a ton of cleaning and a bunch of new parts so...

Soft Stick Baits whos who & whats what

I like Alluring Bait's Trick sticks just because I can get 50 for $8. I really haven't noticed much difference in effectiveness with the different brands of sticks. I will sometimes buy the originals when they're on sale though.

    Esquireds Pretty Pink Grubs

Those grubs look like flounder crack. I'm sure they'd be great for trout (weakfish) too.

    New trout rod

Cook Lake Accotink Creek Lake Accotink Holmes Run Lake Fairfax You should probably check the stocking report before you try fishing them. You have to pay to fish Lake Accotink and Lake Fairfax but they stock some monster trout that fight like there's no tomorrow. www.dgif.state.va.us <--For...

    pitchin/flippin Rod

yeah I agree with ya about that. If I'm pitchin in heavy grass like on the Potomac I use a 7'6 flippin stick. Gotta have that extra leverage when you're in the thick stuff. I use a 6'6 for everything else though.

    pitchin/flippin Rod

Those both sound like great choices. I'm 6'0" and I prefer a 6'6" rod for pitchin. Seems like most people like to use longer rods for pitchin though.

New Tactic or Lure for 2008

I need to figure out how to stop catching so many big fish all the time. My doctor says if I keep it up I'm going to need reconstructive surgery on my lippin thumb :) :^o
