    What motor is this?!

Hey guys, buddy was saying I could have this motor if i made it run. Trying to figure out exactly what it is. Pretty sure it's a 1948 Evinrude 1.5 HP. Can really find anything on google images that matches what it is and describes the motor. Couldn't find anything on the top cowl either.

    Question to all

Yeah I'm getting the feeling the tip-ups is generally more of a North Eastern thing. I Jig to pass the time occasionally too, but most Mainers gear their traps towards trout, which usually don't strike unless it's live bait swimming on it's own.

    Question to all

Hey guys, I live up in Maine and am an avid ice fisherman. We almost exclusively fish with 5 ice fishing traps (tip ups), when a fish hits your bait a flag goes up. Just curious why I see a lot of other states almost exclusively jig. I mean, I understand that a lot of people enjoy jigging and...

hey guys. I have a Mercury 200 20 h.p. and I've been doing work in it. latest thing was getting the motor to idle down in neutral so it wouldn't slam into gear anymore. While i was tinkering with it i had it in a rather large rubber barrel. Water pump was and allways has pumped fine, a good...

    Engine compression tester

So my motor has been giving me trouble starting and I've changed the spark plugs but while I put back together the recoil I figured I'd order an engine compression tester. I'm not sure what size fitting it needs for the engine. some of the kits I've looked at the fitting are marked by the sizes...

    help with deep cycle battery

hey guys, I'd like to put a Deep cycle battery on my aluminum boat so I can run my fish finder, lights, and maybe even an auxiliary plug in. When it comes to electricity I can do simply wiring and that is it! I've given up on trying to understand it. that being said I've narrowed it down to...

    trailer winch question

I went ahead and bought the wire winch mostly because the wire can be coiled at any angle. I felt as though the strap would create difficulties and that the boat would have to be dead on to the winch for the strap to coil properly. I also went with the 1,000 pound winch. it was only 5 dollars...

    trailer winch question

Hey, this is my first boat so bear with me! I have a 14 foot aluminum boat with a 20 horse merc motor. The trailer is an old sail boat trailer that's been converted (halfway) to a boat trailer. After making a few adjustments to make the boat sit properly I've decided it's time to get a winch...
