    Holsclaw Trailer info

Thanks for posting that link! Much more info than I had before. Mine resembles the 1962 W900 very much. Thanks again!

    One battery, two locations.

Thanks, wire would be #8 to run a trolling motor only (same wire as on the motor), but as mentioned I guess 12' isn't far enough to even worry about. (Didn't mean to side track the op's post but I think he got his answers).

    One battery, two locations.

I kind of had the same question wanting to keep my second battery in the bow area. I plan on running wires in PVC conduit to the front and using the quick connectors to switch batteries. My only concern was if I need to go up a wire size because of the distance from the front battery to the...

    Holsclaw Trailer info

I just finished cleaning and fixing up an old Holsclaw trailer. I haven't found any info in my searches. Just curious if someone out there may have some old literature as far as weight and capacities. My serial is 2F152, tilt type with 4 coil springs. Thanks . . .

want to paint my jon boat.....advice needed..

I know opinions vary, but I used automotive acrylic enamel. I know it's not recommended for "below the water line" but my boat's lucky to go out once every two weeks. Holding up well. Then I bought stencils and gave it a camo job with "camo" flat aerosols.

    10 foot jon boat sears

I have a Sears 12' x 32" wide floor flat bottom jon boat. The tag states the following: 5 h.p., 2 persons at 150 lbs per person, or a properly located max. weight of 440 lbs for persons and gear.

Stability of a jon 1232 and other basic newbie ?'s

Once more thanks everyone for your input. After reading the responses and responses to some recent similar type posts, I think I'll be looking for a V jon with deep sides. I just rather not take a risk of losing/damaging my camera gear in the water in the event something silly/unexpected/bad...

    Jon boat stability help

Hello, I asked a similar question, however on a smaller narrow jon boat, some of the responses there may be of some help: https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=33147 Good luck! :D

Stability of a jon 1232 and other basic newbie ?'s

mmm . . . not quite [-X I appreciate everyones input, and thanks. The Sears 1232 jon (in decent shape) I ended up with was purchased at a small auction for $120. I actually purchased it to have a better boat to change our pond filter instead of our little pedal "fun" pond boat. While...

Stability of a jon 1232 and other basic newbie ?'s

Oh my . . . Okay. This is why I ask, I don't know. I'll play with it in our pond (always w/lifejackets) and see if it's like a canoe or worse. I just liked the idea of tossing it in the pick up truck and carrying it to the waters edge and floating off. I guess if I keep it, I'll have to...

Stability of a jon 1232 and other basic newbie ?'s

Hello, What a cool forum! I purchased an old Sears 12' 32" bottom jon boat. My only intent was to have something more stable to change our pond filter. As an amateur wildlife photographer, it dawned on me . . . this boat would be perfect (?) for floating/trolling our smaller rivers and...
