    How far can a gas can be from the motor?

    I have a freshly rebuilt Evinrude 18 HP Fastwin with a new fuel pump. I need to put the fuel tank about 8 ft away from the motor and I'm wondering if this is too far for the fuel pump to suck? An thoughts on this? Thanks!
