That makes more sense. The last 2letters being "SD" according to the model # lookup is 06. Take away the last letter and you have "CS", or 80. I was wondering why it was "RC" or rope/commercial. Thanks for straightening this out.

I mistakenly said "serial"#, should have been model #. My bad, The ser# is E0001136 got a pic on my iPhone to refer to. Model number is exactly as quoted. On a side note, there is an expansion plug on top of the engine with the same number. Sorry for the confusion.

Speaking of serial numbers, my 15hp Evinrude has the ser# stamped on an expansion plug on top of the power head. It is identical to the frame mounted serial number plate. Good call on checking the lower unit, you probably saved yourself some change down the road.
