I have an 87 mariner 40 hp, mid throttle it hesitates, and sounds like its running on one cylinder.....idle, and full throttle are fine..any ideas?

Whats up?...i have a 1987 traveler 16 ft bass/jon boat, its got a 20 in transom. Would a 1986 merc 90 six cylinder be alright for this boat? Ive seen similar boats with similar motors,,,just want some opinions..thanks guys..

i have about a 2000 model, gamefisher, 15hp motor , i believe this model is made by force, does anyone know where to readily find parts, or even a manual , for this motor??
