I tried wacky rigging for the first time today. I used a flea flicker rig. lost 2 in the first half hour. I don't like rigs that aren't snag proof. I have better results with a trick worm and hook up every time. I will try again, but have lost confidence so far..........Sorry this was the shaky...

Nice, I think its the best way to fish, lake or river. You don't have to fight the boat dock either. I have a Manta Ray rigged with fish finder,anchor trolly, rod holders and lots of storage. This is probably why I'll never finish my tin boat. Last winters project is becoming this winters project.

My wife wears bi-focal contacts. She says they are great. I wear one contact in my left eye for reading. My right eye is for distance. It takes a while to get used to it, but the brain adjusts automatically. Check it out.

Just got back from vacation. Now I'm ready to get this motor running. I may leave the paint alone, but I can match the paint myself if I decide to paint it. Thanks for the comments.

I read your post, and had no answer except you're screwed. If you sand it you will be through the aluminium before it comes off. Maybe you could try a stick of dynamite and hope for the best. :lol:

That's too bad, I have been using aluminum rods from Harbor Freight and they do pretty good. i watched the video on youtube. Thats when I decided to try them. I ment for you to heat the surface to 700deg. Not the rod, I see where I said heat the rod. Sorry....The rod will melt when it touches...

Thanks, I have ordered parts so I can get it running. I will only repaint the cover since the rest is original and looks good. I agree this motor is one of the nicest looking classics with that chrome it has that 57 chevy look. This is the first one I have ever seen.

I have had good luck with it. Use a wire brush preferably stainless, clean it really well. Heat the rod to where it starts to melt, then smear it around. It may be to hot if its just rolling off. I just rapaired a 6" by 1/4" gash in my boat where it rubbed through on a bad roller. This stuff...

I finally found a 35 hp for my alumacraft. This is unmolested ,original paint, tank and controls with electric start. 200 bucks. Feels like it has good compression. I will take some pics tomorrow. Its been sitting for a long time,but its a very original jewel. Lets all [-o< I get it...

If you're not getting fuel I would spray fuel from a spray bottle directly in the carb as you crank it, that way you know you are getting fuel there. I would use fresh pre mixed fuel.
