Looking to make my 16' semi-V aluminum night ready. Any suggestions for headlights (led of course) and black light set ups? Thanks in advance.

    TM mounted transducer

I've got this old Johnson TM. I think it's a 28 lb. thrust. It has a three position switch, but only works on low or medium. Looking at the wiring, I'm not sure it's wired for three speeds. Anyway, I got a Lowrance X-4 Pro I'm gonna mount up by my front seat and mount the transducer on the TM...

    fish finder suggestions

I'm looking to invest in a fish finder/gps combo. The humminbird helix 5 DI seems to fit the bill and my budget. Any thoughts or suggestions for units in this price range? Thanks.

    Hub help please!

Just finished a makeover of my Lowe 1648mv. I rebuilt the entire trailer including new bearings in the old hubs. I reinstalled the old bearing buddies, but lost one coming back from my mechanic. I bought two new dust caps from O'reily's auto parts and installed them. They went in snug, but...

    new noodle use

This probably been done before, but I needed to rework my rod storage as the packaging foam I originally used had dried out too bad. Got this large swimming pool noodle at Walmart for $3.88. Split, glued it to a new piece of lumber and cut some slits. Voila!

    humminbird super 60

Anyone know how a humminbird super sixty behaves while not on the water? One came with my boat and it comes on, but the bar stays at 2 feet no matter where I point the transducer. Do I need to be moving on the water for it to show depth? Thanks.

    LED Polarity

I bought a sea choice led stern light. Which would be positive, the black lead or the gray lead? Or does it matter?

    wire gage help

What size wire would I use from my starting battery to my buss bars? I'm using 14 ga. from my buss bars to the switch panel and all accessories which only amounts to led lights, bilge pump, 12 volt receptacle, and electronics. Thanks.

    electronics connections

Didn't want to hijack another thread so I'll ask here. I'm down to rewiring my Lowe 1648mv. I'm going to install either a 5 gang w/outlet or a 6 gang panel. I'll also use the Lowrance flasher that came with the rig and add a fish finder. I'm assuming I can wire both those devices to my buss bars...

    Rivnut tool rental

I think I've decided to bolt my TM battery access panel to my aluminum framing instead of hinging it. I could drill and tap the aluminum angle but it seems rivnuts would be a better option. Anyone know if these tools are available to rent?

    complete diagram

Would anyone care to do me a favor and direct me to a thread (if one exists) depicting a complete wiring diagram for a 16' Mod V with electric start engine? I inherited a mess with this rig I bought last year. I plan to keep it fairly simple with two batteries, ( TM and starting) lights, bilge...

    swivl eze bases

Non threaded pedestal bases obviously extend below deck level, but what about threaded bases? Can I mount one directly to 3/4" plywood without the need for clearance underneath?

    Attaching carpet to plywood

I'm getting close to installing the carpet into my Lowe 1648MV. Spent several hours here trying to find some detailed pics or description of how guys are finishing the edges. Is everyone trimming it flush with the plywood edge or wrapping it around the edge a couple inches and stapling on the...

    Lowe 1648MV makeover (near complete)

Hi everybody! I'm a long time looker, first time poster. I picked up this late 80's boat and Classic Fifty Merc w/power trim and new tuneup last summer for $2500. May have paid too much but it was near exact what I was looking for in anticipation of next years retirement. I totally disassembled...
