I am thinking of not painting. Anyone think this is a bad id

Check this stuff out to protect the bare aluminum: https://www.sharkhide.com/mpinfo.html I used their metal cleaner and it worked wonders. however, without the protectant the metal got stained/discolored very quickly. Going to protect it this summer.

yankyfan's 1432 Sears finished product!! (on board grill!)

I like the variable speed of the Motor Guide, but that also seems to be its flaw. After 1 season I am already running into problems with the variable speed switch. Also, the shaft likes to slip down the collar a little bit to easily. Anyone other people have experience with this motor? I...

nice boat! I actually have the same one but its a 1432. I sharkhided it, built some storage compartments and topped the benches with some nice wood. Check my build out: https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=13676

yankyfan's 1432 Sears finished product!! (on board grill!)

I finished up the benches finally. Something looked like it was missing so I added some nice wooden tops: I also added a little charcoal grill. It is attached by a bolt that drops in where the oar would go. Works great! Nothing better than spending the whole day out on the lake...

yankyfan's 1432 Sears finished product!! (on board grill!)

-brine yeah its a great product *BUT* if you use it, be sure to also buy the metal protectant. I didn't (poor college budget) and below the water line is already changing color. Good thing i have 1/4 gallon left to clean it next year and ill buy the metal protectant also.

First outing of the season, Truesdale Lake

Finally got out today and it was surprisingly good. The lake was man made about 110 years ago and not too big, so i feel like these fish are pretty good! little perch last one of the day, and the biggest

new boat, now trolling motor conenctions get hot

the battery was a brand new fully charged one. I agree on going to a heavier gauge but ive used this before on the old boat with no problems. If i go to a heavier gauge do i start that right where the wires comes out of the motor?

new boat, now trolling motor conenctions get hot

Im using stock gauge wire from the motor, and a splice to another stock gauge wire from an old motor. The total lengths are still the same that come with the motor. this same exact setup worked perfectly fine on the old boat...now im clueless.

new boat, now trolling motor conenctions get hot

I upgraded from my 12 foot jon to a 1432 semi v. First time out today and the connections from the battery to the motor are getting VERY hot. So hot that the rubber on them started melting. I thought it might be the circuit breaker but i took that out and it still got hot. The motor is a 45lb...

yankyfan's 1432 Sears finished product!! (on board grill!)

well i'm not really making standing decks. They are more for hatches that i can lock since the boat will be stored publicly. If you have questions on when to deck and when not to check out this thread. https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9074

@Brine: Do you have an affiliation with sharkhide? It sure did work great. Next year i will spring the extra $$ for the protectant. @ perchin: It definitely is a sears check out the label. It does however look exactly like yours. Started the front hatch today. Half done and stained. The...

yankyfan's 1432 Sears finished product!! (on board grill!)

So i finally got started on my boat. First thing on my list was do clean it up with sharkhide. All i can say is WOW. The boat looks brand spanking new besides the deeper scratches that trapped more dirt. I dont think that pics do it justice becuse it was getting dark by the transom pic gives you...
