I realize that the original post was in 2008 but speaking of DeLoreans....how about this one for motivation....

This might seem a little radical (excessive)...my trailer was real rusty so I wanted to sand blast it as a first step to painting....the boat at the time was a early 70's huge 18ft. Crestliner with a 55 HP Evinrude...console steering... no way to sand blast with it on and no way to get it...

Oh yea...another reason for "Betsy"...I think Wisconsin is 1 of only 2 states that CCW in not legal....but the WI attorney general just recently ruled that open carry (not concealed) is legal...except in public places, close to schools, while driving, and a bunch more goofy reason...so CCW is...

Based on your admitted inexperiance (good thing to admit to) the first step would be any and all gun / hunter saftey classes you can attend. I am in Wisconsin and some gun dealers here will actually (rent) you a variety of guns to shoot at thier range so you have a better idea of what you would...

Ok, I went to the local (Wisconsin) DNR office to register my boat without a Hull Identification Number...(probably pre 1972). Had no problem at all registering it. The DNR computer generated a H.I.N. and all I have to to is etch, ingrave, or stamp it onto the upper right corner if the ouside...

Russ,G3.. Thanks for the help...I just re-checked the boat. Definitely no serial number on the outside of the transom or anywhere else on the boat. Now I am thinking pre 1972. Oh well, I am off to the local DNR office to try and register it. I will report back on what I find out.
