After changing prop pitch from 11 to 13 I was able to drop rpms to a degree but wanted to try a 15 pitch but I have a 10.5 inch diameter and have located a almost new prop cheap I may buy that is 10x15.Does prop diameter just on its own cause a drop possibly in Rpm?

This new to me 9.5 is running with new impeller and a good carb cleaing.One thing I did notice when I got it was the gunk/crude around the head gasket.Is this a sign of over heating or someone may have replaced it and used some sort of gasket sealer on it and it oozed out and got hard?
