    First of all, you don't want a deep cycle battery on the outboard. You want a high output cranker. The on board charger is the way to go. Each battery will draw, or be provided, the voltage/current needed (separately) from a 2 bank charger. I just finished installing a 3 bank charger today...

    Question about LED's and fuses

    Place just one fuse at the battery. Any place a short occurs down stream of the fuse, and tries to draw large gobs of current, will pop the fuse and protect everything from damage.

    Always, always, always use fuses. They are not intended (in your application) to protect the leds. If you develop a short circuit to ground, that battery will pump all the current it can down that circuit, which is a ton all at once. Instant fire. Size the fuse amps to just a bit more than the...
