    12foot project. The NX-1236

Well I've had loads of time this weekend to play in the garage so here we are! It's been fun playing adult erector set all weekend. Been careful with the fit and things feel real solid. Happy with everything so far. If you're wondering why one of the crosspieces has a load of relief cuts in...

OK to move Fuel Tank forward?

as far as the pump is concerned, vertical distance from the pump is what matters, not horizontal.

Alright, made good headway on some framing. got the side-rails all done. Started framing out what will be front deck and storage. planning ahead to where a quick disconnect seat base will go has determined where the first vertical uprights need to be. I am trying to make cuts on the...

    12foot project. The NX-1236

hi all, vacation was amazing, and I'm back at it with the 1236 this weekend. Did alot of this in Zion and bryce canyon while we were gone: Anywho, starting on some framing, and having a devil of a time bending this 1/8" angle for side supports. bought it because local bulk metal suppliers...

    Life jackets/PFD

fwiw: Im a safety nerd, so I wear one at all times. Have always used a relatively lightweight "kayak" style pfd but I think I might get an auto-inflator for my birthday this summer. I was a competitive swimmer in my youth, in my mid-30's now and would still rate myself an excellent swimmer...

    What all-weather/low maint interior lights?

I read through the details on the nilight round marker style lights and thought I saw "tinned" somewhere. I was planning on grabbing a few in different colors for my build based off your recommendation. I like the small round marker style as well, small, tough, and easy to find a spot for them.

    12foot project. The NX-1236

alright, been a little haphazard this week. finished up pre-spring break school work, and heading out of town for a week next week, but still chipping away at things. I'm getting a little out of order on a couple things, mostly due to household noise ordinances (a recurring theme for a lot of...

My motivational speaking calendar is booked up for the next several months by trying to motivate my 2.5 year old daughter to eat her dinner.

    12foot project. The NX-1236

Incoming picture vomit: Starting working on the sheet of aluminum that will function as a...transom saver? Decided to just go for it with tools I have on hand. First attempt: Scored the sheet with a flathead screwdriver. This didn't work at all. Angle stock was too flimsy and screws were...

    12foot project. The NX-1236

Alright, been a busy week but I've gotten a good chunk done. Patching old rivet holes (and some old screw holes....why why why) was time consuming, but I got them all done. Once I have the transom done, I'm ready for the first water test. I admit I got a little bit lazy and switched to...

    2x4 Bunk Covering

i don't know if These covers would fit the bill, but they are quite a bit cheaper than the gatorback. Stumbled across them when i was brainstorming making little sliders for the bed of my truck.

    12foot project. The NX-1236

I made a whole little chart with cost and lbs/ft2 of decking material to help me decide. 1/16 frp is about the lightest thing I could think of, and it's $20 a sheet. my only thought with doing .050 aluminum sheet is that I thought it might help add back some rigidity if I want a really wide...
