It's time.. Finally starting my 77 14' Seafarer build/ rebuild.

I decided to take out the brackets for the old bench seats. Hopefully I get the bottom painted this week. I did rip the aluminum box into angle and started some rough framing. Can't wait to get it painted and start using the new rivet gun.

Has anyone used Azek Sheets for flooring projects?

I meant saving weight by going with 3/8" Azek and using more 1.5" angle aluminum bracing vs 1/2" or even 3/4" Azek and less bracing. Sorry for the confusion, my fault. I agree the Azek is actually heavier than the same size plywood. I haven't been able to get much done yet but check out the...

Has anyone used Azek Sheets for flooring projects?

I did start a build thread, and I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll try and keep it to an Azek discussion. I run a 15 hp Johnson tiller and transom mount 55lb minn kota on this boat and I have no reason to think two pieces of 3/4" glued and screwed together would be a problem. We used...

It's time.. Finally starting my 77 14' Seafarer build/ rebuild.

It's been too cold here to do very much actual work, but today I got the Gluvit down and I'm happy. I was also lucky enough to get 10 pieces of 1.5" x 8' aluminum box. I'm going to rip it, hopefully into something close to 1.5" angle, for my framing. Very familiar with your boat Makaw. You...

Has anyone used Azek Sheets for flooring projects?

I guess I'm too late perki, but I'm about to put 3'8" Azek for my floor, and two glued sheets of 3/4"for my transom. I've worked with it for years now, it behaves like plywood, it cuts like plywood, it routers better than plywood, it makes way more of a mess cutting and sanding, and yes it sags...

It's time.. Finally starting my 77 14' Seafarer build/ rebuild.

The Nyalox wheel is definitely an upgrade over what I had. It does remove the paint without really scratching up the aluminum too much, but it does struggle with some of the original starcraft paint. I don't think the 80 grit would have been too much. i thought the individual strands of the...

It's time.. Finally starting my 77 14' Seafarer build/ rebuild.

I was going to wire wheel it, but I wasn't sure if the ones I had were stainless, and I wanted to try something softer first anyway. I saw your posts about the polycarbide wheels in other threads (hope sonny1 is doing ok) and purchased the wrong ones. I bought the cheap...

It's time.. Finally starting my 77 14' Seafarer build/ rebuild.

Im going to try a Nyalox wheel to clean up the rivets and seams. Any opinions on grit? 80 or 120 ?

It's time.. Finally starting my 77 14' Seafarer build/ rebuild.

Removed the benches, rotten transom wood, and anything else I didn't need. The boat doesn't leak a drop and I'd like to keep it that way, so the next step will be to remove the paint around the rivets and seams and coat with Gluvit. I also have 3/4" Azek (pvc board) and I plan on gluing and...

It's time.. Finally starting my 77 14' Seafarer build/ rebuild.

I bought this boat two years ago and fished with just the trolling motor that year. The previous owner had told me the 86 15hp Johnson should run but he had taken the carb apart, then showed me a coffee can of parts. I didn't feel like messing with it at the time so left it for winter. Guess I...

86 johnson 15hp water pump not pumping water

Thanks for the help guys. I never did find any of the old impeller plastic but i blew air through everything and it seemed clear. I thought i had the water high enough but i guess i was just under where lower leg and top unit join. I put it all back together and added a little more water to the...

86 johnson 15hp water pump not pumping water

Hi guys, last year I bought a 14' seafarer with this motor and did a lot of fishing with trolling motor and never used the johnson. The boat had been sitting for a few years and I was told the carb had been worked on and it should run. Was planning on having someone go over it but it never...
