    Once my friend's whaler got up on top, he was able to throttle back a bit and he could move back but as I remember, I stayed up front.

    Pappy has it right. Try something different before going the expensive route. A friend had a short Boston Whaler (70's) and best i can recall, a 15hp Johnson. With the two of uskids and fishing gear, it wouldn't hit a plane until I was in the bow and he moved to the middle seat.

    I'm going to add an optional drain and plug. I don't like having to constantly flip the boat around but currently, storing it on the trailer right side up, I'm raising mosquitoes!

    Do you know what the brackets on the middle seat might be for? And, why is there no drain in the transome?

    A friend passed and the family sold me the aluminum rowboat we fished from over the years. We hadn't used it in about ten years, taking to fish from shore. That is probably the last time it was registered. In NY if a boat can support a motor, it needs to be registered. The family can't find any...
