I believe that a bottom width measurement only applies to a flat bottom john boats. For istance I have a Lowe 1236 (12' long 36" inches wide). Your boat is a deep V so you will not have a simple number because your boat is curved or angled.

I have been looking for a gas motor for my Lowe 1236 for a while now, with no luck. I finally saw the motor I wanted but it was attached to a boat. I emailed the guy and asked him if he would consider seperating the boat and the motor. He told me sure and "to make an offer"...I hate when people...

I have a Lowe 1236 and it is pretty much perfect for me. It is rated for up to a 10hp motor. I normally fish with another experienced person with no problems, and on the off chance I am alone it is small enough to load and unload by myself.

Like the title says I am beginning a mod on my Lowe 1236, I would like to find a place to buy inexpensive hatches? Or at least a decent cheap idea for hatches. Thank you very much for any advice you can offer. I will get pictures up as soon as the mod begins!

Does cutting the middle seat out do anything to the structural integrity of the boat? or does the remaining aluminum provide enough support.
