    1988 Tracker V-16

Guys have a question on bolts (or machine screws)....... When I go to bolt my transom back together, do I need a bolt that has a rubber washer, or can I just use a small (like a #10) pan head with some 3m 5200 on it? I seem to have have trouble finding a stainless bolt that is 2" long with a...

    1988 Tracker V-16

Got a little more done, slowly but surely...... I got the transom cut out and a couple coats of urethane on it, as well as coating the main floor. I also have decided to raise the front deck 3" with some aluminum tubing. I will add a couple hatches for a couple batterys for the TM. I will...

MD, Do you know the shaft length of your TM you put on your V-16?

Well I got a couple pieces glued together, and as we speak they are curing (hopefully). I also got the main floor cut. I still need to seal, and get the hole in for the seat base. I will also picked up some foam tonight to add under the livewell area where it was water-logged. I'm also working...

Does anyone know if sealing the wood before gluing it together will cause any issues? I didn't know if a few coats of urethane would cause the glue to not adhere as well.....And I would still seal it once it is glued together as well obviously.

Yeah, the transom actually wasn't too bad as far as rotted. But it was so warped and had a big dip in it. i may need to beef up the knee braces or something in the future. Is the gorilla glue method about the best way to laminate a new board for the transom?

    Jay415's Alumacraft MV1648

Very nice job. I'm thinking about doing my rear deck like that. Just trying to figure out how to do it with the livewell right in the middle, where your seat base hole is.

I decided to take the transom out and replace the wood.

I've been going back and forth on the transom. Maybe I should go ahead and replace it. It isn't soft, just looks aged. The wood is real gray. But it seems solid. Decisions, decisions. Anyone know what a 40 hp tiller weighs? 150?

MD, did you ever consider adding a rear deck? I think I would like that for fishing , but just trying to figure out the best way.

I've gotten all the floors out and the original floor was so bad, I literally had to vacuum it out. It came out in very few large pieces haha. I have put a new drain in the livewell, so while I was digging around underneath it I did notice some wet foam. It didn't seem too saturated, as it was...

    1988 Tracker V-16

I found this on craigslist a few weeks ago, and made a purchase. It has an 40 HP '81 Mariner on the back, and a 40 lb minn kota on the front. I took it out on the lake, and it seemed to run good. I did get some water in it, but alot of it came from a bad hose in the livewell drain. I ran the...

Haven't touched the boat yet, but have started working on the trailer. Fun times with a grinder. I will probably put a base coat of Rustoleum rusty metal primer. Hopefully that will be sufficient.

Bought my first boat a couple weeks ago. Just looking for ideas. I wish there were only two benches in it cause it can be cramped. If I were to cut out a bench or two would I have to go back and reinforce it? I'd like to add something to level out the front few feet or so maybe for troller and...
