    New motor selection

I've always heard that Tohatsus and Mercs under 30 hp are the same engine but Tohatsus are less expensive so you might take that into consideration. Just my 2 cents

hurricane is coming, what to do?

Also I would definitely make sure you park it far away from any trees in case one falls in high winds.

    How wide??

I think that the widest I've seen being made currently is the Roughneck 1455 which is 55" wide at the bottom. You normally can get welded boats wider than riveted so I would look, like previously said, at Alweld and Weldbuilt for wider boats.

40 HP merc tiller to remote conversion

I don't know how much help this will be but I converted a 15 hp Johnson to remote. Granted mine was not electric start or trim but it wasn't hard to do. I ordered a kit from Evinrude that gave me step by step instructions. I would think that the electrical would not be to hard to do. I did mine...

    Lowe L1436L

Hey I bought this boat new in early September and just finished the modifications this weekend. I used 15/32" ply wood for the decks and 11/32" for the floor. I sealed the wood with Thompson's Water Seal. The rest is pretty clear; carpeted the wood installed the switches for the lights and an...

How do you clean sunfish - buegill

I know some people like to cut the head off, gut them, & scale them but that leaves the bones. Though it might not be the fastest way, I almost always fillet mine just like you would sac-au-lait. They have to be nice sized bluegill but it's worth it. Hope this helps!

    Johnson 15

Thanks for the reply. That's kind of what I was thinking. Canoeman, thanks for the reply. Why do they lose power and is there a way to prevent or lesson the impact of that?

    Johnson 15

Thanks for the comment! I don't think it is something as major as the cylinder, it only has around 30 hours on it and the prop seems fine.

    Johnson 15

I have a 06 Johnson 15 that I have noticed has "good days" and "okay days". I have had it sense late december and have loved it however I have noticed that it seems to preform differently sometimes. It never sounds bad or runs bad but sometimes it seems like I go faster and have better hole shot...

    motor pricing

That looks like a really clean motor. Do you know what year it is and how much it was used? I would say, from the looks, that is a pretty good deal, maybe a little high. A motor like that would probably be in the 850-1100 range depending on year and use. I would want to see it run and make sure...
