    My 2012 tracker 1542 build

The popcorn comment made me laugh...I think we all read treated wood and expected an interesting response. Boat looks greats, congrats! Enjoy and catch a lot of fish!

    First boat. 1432 Jon boat.

Hey good luck with your build. I have a 1432 myself and kept it simple. I carpeted plywood over the 3 bench seats and put low pedestal seat mounts on all three as well. I have 2 seats that pop out and can be moved; at times we spread out and I stay in the in back and my partner will move the...

Tracker Topper 14 conversion - Finished!!!

Very nice...I wish mine was 36 wide. Its only 31". I get myself (210lbs) and one son at a time (120lbs) in with no problem. From time to time I have a buddy close to 300lbs in it with me and no problem at all. I take it out on a small lake, electric only. BUT have been debating on using it...

    9.9 hp or 15 hp

The boat has 3 benches and the ribs go up the sides. It is a solid boat, no flex whatsoever. I had a sears at one time and this is much more solid/sturdier. The aluminum is a mush better grade. I was shocked when I saw 6 HP, barely though because the side was drilled into and crushed a bit...

    9.9 hp or 15 hp

Any of the larger lakes I fish at have no limit. I do use the 14' with my trolling motor on an electric only lake/canals. BUT I was able to remove some paint on the cap plate. It states max 6HP. WOW....that is not much HP at all. It is a 1992 OMC Aluminum Boat Group boat...

    9.9 hp or 15 hp

Thank you sir. Although it is older, it is $400 cheaper. But would work better on a bigger boat down the road. I was worried about the 15 hp on the narrow 14. Thanks!

    9.9 hp or 15 hp

I could use some advice. I currently have a 1432 flat jon. I re-did the transom and overall it is a solid boat. My cap. plate is intact but the HP is not visible (of course). I am debating on whether I should put on a johnson 15 hp (1985) or a john 9.9 hp (2004). The 15hp is an electric and...

Alumacraft 1648 Project - Getting Ready, Again

Thanks Gill. If you dont mind I may pick your brain a bit on this one. Being that it is a new setup I dont want to make as many mistakes (less holes the better) and have more patience. Again thanks...great job

    Carpeting

Hey there and welcome to the site. The members here are great and full of knowledge. I spent a while trying to decide on carpet. I went from special ordering to gluing it, then eventually went with a roll of indoor/outdoor from home depot and stapled it. It has held up without any issues but...

    Power loading?

I am very patient at the boat ramp. I didnt start out as a pro so I understand when a person is having issues... If anything I try to give them some advice, like take your time, start over, relax etc. HOWEVER, if they are unloading or loading gear while I wait, then yes I have a problem. But...

Poconoboss' Tracker Topper 1542 Conversion - SHE IS DONE!

I 2nd the stability of the 1542. We took ours out for the 1st time this past weekend and it was very stable. I stood and fished all day with ease. I also have a 1431 that we use on some of the local fresh water canals and a small lake, electric only...and the difference is night and day...
