    Yamaha F50 to F60

Oh I get it. I’m not going to do anything until I find the ECU from a 60. I’m looking but not very hard.

    Yamaha F50 to F60

Has anyone converted their F50 to a F60? I have a 2018 F50, it runs good but if I can get that extra 10 hp out of it I’m gonna. I searched and found a YouTube video of this for a 2008 model, I think. The guy said the bore and stroke were the same, it just needs the airflow restrictor removed and...

    Al Lindner

I watch fishing shows for the sole purpose of watching a fishing show. I can deal with commercials but what I don’t like is the Sunday school lesson at the end of the show. I guess if I get my own show I can do what I want with the last 3 minutes.

Will live well pump draw from a hose

Actually it should work just fine. If the fill hose runs from the transom to the livewell in the floor of the boat, it should fill with water as soon as the boat is launched, unless you have a shut off valve on it. If not then the pump only has to lift water a foot or so.

Putting Live well Inside Bench Seat

I hope this works, if not you have the title of my build so you can search for it. Buckethead's 1974 Duracraft 1720 https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=21494&share_tid=26781&url=httpss%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eforum%2Etinboats%2Enet%2Fviewtopic%2Ephp%3Ft%3D26781&share_type=t

Putting Live well Inside Bench Seat

Remove the bench seat, flip it upside down and cut the ends to where they'll fold up into an aluminum tank. I used stainless steel button head bolts with stainless nylock nuts and 3m5200 to seal it all up. My seat became a 22 gallon live well. If you want it in the same location in the boat you...

    Long shaft, short transom

I did it with heavy wall 1-1/2" aluminum angle and a fresh cut white oak board from a sawmill. I had to extend my short transom 5" to fit a 50hp short shaft jet. It worked perfectly. I extended the angle from the bottom on the transom on the inside with 2 1/2" stainless steel bolts/nuts. I've...

    Stabil Marine

Pure gas has an app you can get for free in the App Store. It has a ma that shows stations that sell ethanol free gas. I've been using ethanol free in all my small engines and my fuel related problems are gone. It's been three years that I leave the gas in my outboard, weed trimmer and lawn...

    1989 Yamaha 25 sf

I had worms of some kind worked their way up the pee hole and setup camp. I bought this motor used in March, had no problems. First week of May we went fishing, put in the lake, fired it up and nothing coming from the hole. Installed a new water pump, traced every water line until I got to the...

    Aluminum framing

I used 3/16" aluminum or stainless steel rivets. I also used stainless bolts/nuts with nylon washers and 5200. Did most of my fabrication in 2012 and 2013, no leaks, no connections trying to come apart, still holding up well. Fabricating with aluminum means no rotting and basically you'll use...

    Seat base issue.

I'd like to hear the answers to this as well. The one I mounted in the back of my boat has become extremely tight for some reason. It's been in there 4 years and just now starting to tighten. I put a few drops of 3 n 1 oil, made things a little easier for now.

Another "crappy silver fuel line" reminder.

Thanks gatorglenn. Man, that's what is so great about this forum. I'm so glad to be a part of it.

Another "crappy silver fuel line" reminder.

I replaced my old Mercury fuel line with red lettering with new Mercury fuel line with blue lettering, they said the newer blue lettered fuel line resists ethanol better. I also only use non ethanol. I've just bought my first 4 stroke outboard, when I changed the end from Mercury to Yamaha I...

    DIY aluminum livewell riveted together.

I built one of mine from the bench seat I removed. Here's the link to my build. Buckethead's 1974 Duracraft 1720 https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=21494&share_tid=26781&url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum%2Etinboats%2Enet%2Fviewtopic%2Ephp%3Ft%3D26781&share_type=t

    Powerhead swap

Thanks for the reply Pappy. That's the type of answer I want, not only for me but you know there's someone else in the network that's thinking of the same thing. Since my donor motor was involved in a fire I'm going to take the powerhead off anyway. Even if I can't use it someone can.

Looking for a 1983 Mercury 50 hp powerhead

I'm not sure of the model # of the jet pump. As far as the powerhead I think the 40 and 50 hp powerheads were the same, carburetors are what made the hp difference.

    Powerhead swap

Will a powerhead from a 1965 50 hp Mercury work on a 1983 50 hp Mercury? The shaft and splines match and will connect. I was told by a local outboard mechanic that it will work if the shaft and splines match. Does anyone know of any other reason why it won't work? I know Mercury made a lot of...
